As of October 1, 2017, the registered carry-over stocks of grains and pulses in Kazakhstan totaled over 18.004 mln tonnes. In particular, peasant and farming households stored 3.787 mln tonnes of grains, reported the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Wheat formed the major share of the general grain stocks – 14.668 mln tonnes, including 13.096 mln tonnes of milling wheat, 728.28 thsd tonnes of feed wheat, and 843.85 thsd tonnes of wheat for seeds.
Also, corn stocks totaled 71.42 thsd tonnes, rice – 274.82 thsd tonnes, barley – 2.24 mln tonnes, rye – 31.58 thsd tonnes, oats – 222.54 thsd tonnes, buckwheat – 50.7 thsd tonnes, millet – 24.42 thsd tonnes, and mixture of spiked grain crops – 73.27 thsd tonnes.
