COBB COUNTY, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Three people were injured after a crash late Sunday night in Cobb County.

The Cobb County Police Department says around 11:15 p.m. Sunday, a Mercedes was disabled on the right shoulder of I-75 North near its interchange with Windy Hill Road. They say a tow truck with its lights flashing was behind the Mercedes when a GMC Yukon failed to maintain its lane and collided with the rear of the tow truck, pushing it forward into the disabled Mercedes. The driver and passenger of the Mercedes were outside the car and were struck by the vehicle.

Officials say the driver of the Mercedes was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Yukon and the passenger of the Mercedes were also transported with injuries. The tow truck driver was not injured.

CCPD’s STEP Unit is investigating.
