Silas Zion, the getaway driver wanted for attempted murder, was arrested in Puna without incident shortly after 6 p.m.
The island-wide manhunt for Christopher Lucrisia is still ongoing.
Big Island police continue to search for Christopher Lucrisia after he shot an officer this morning near Prince Kuhio Plaza and this evening, his getaway driver was arrested.
UPDATE 5:30 P.M.
The Hawaii Police Department is having a press conference about the ongoing search for two suspects in this morning's officer-involved shooting in Hilo. The event can be viewed on a livestream on the police department's Instagram.
The shot officer is recovering on Oahu in serious but stable condition. He is a nine-year veteran assigned to the East Hawaii Vice Unit.
During the shootout, a nearby detective returned fire at the suspects. The officer is a 17-year veteran with the department assigned to the East Hawaii Vice Unit. This morning's incident led the officer to get placed on administrative leave.

Police are also looking for 23-year-old Silas Zion of Pahoa, wanted for attempted murder in connection to the shooting. Zion was the driver of the pickup truck in assisting Lucrisia flee from the scene.
Zion is described as Caucasian, 5-feet 6-inches tall, 110 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.
Big Island police are searching for Christopher Lucrisia, 39, for shooting an officer at First Hawaiian Bank near the Prince Kuhio Plaza this morning. Authorities are also looking for his getaway driver Silas Zion, 23.
UPDATE 3 P.M.
Police have completed search of homes in Hilo. Suspect Christopher Lucrisia is still at large and the search has expanded island wide.
The officer who was shot is in serious, but stable condition and has been airlifted to Queen's Hospital on Oahu. He is being treated for a head injury.

Police search in the manhunt has been completed in the area of Manono and Leilani Street in Hilo.

Hawaii Island Police are clearing homes in the Manono and Leilani Streets in Hilo in their search for Christopher Lucrisia, 39, an armed and dangerous suspect wanted in connection with the shooting of a police officer.
The public is asked to avoid the area.
Officials also reported the police officer to be in serious condition.

Hawaii Island Police continue to lookout for Lucrisia, who they believe is on foot in the Manono and Leilani St. area.
The public is asked to avoid the area and call 911 if they spot him.

HILO, Hawaii (Island News) – The Hawaii Police Department is on the lookout for a wanted man connected to an apparent officer-involved shooting.
Christopher Lucrisia, 39, is suspected of shooting a police officer two times at a bank near the Prince Kuhio Plaza at around 11 a.m.
He fled the scene as a passenger in a white Chevy pickup truck, with the license plate ZLD014, headed in the direction of the airport. The driver of the truck was also a man.
Lucrisia is described as Puerto Rican, stands at 5’10”, weighs about 250 lbs., has green eyes and black hair.
Lucrisia is considered armed and dangerous. The public is urged not to approach him, but to call 911 immediately if they see him.
No information has been provided regarding the incident and the condition of the officer that was shot.
