Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Reșan said Russian agents spent about EUR 200 million on attempts to rig votes in Moldova's last year’s presidential election and referendum on European integration.

That’s according to Reuters, Ukrinform reports.

"Kremlin agents have launched a massive campaign to bribe voters, spending about EUR 200 million - almost 1% of Moldova's GDP - with the aim of destabilizing our country," Reșan said at a briefing in Chisinau.

Moldovan law enforcement agencies claim the vote-rigging efforts were led by fugitive pro-Russian oligarch Ilan Shor and his backers. Shor has denied any wrongdoing.
