The title for the new Has Fallen TV series, that was spotted filming in Bristol in both February and March, has been confirmed.

It has been announced that Apollo Has Fallen, will be the second season of Urban Myth Films’ Has Fallen franchise.

Apollo Has Fallen will follow on from the first season, which was a spin-off of the movie trilogy released between 2013 and 2019, consisting of Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen and Angel Has Fallen.

The movies featured Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman in the starring roles.

The first season, Paris Has Fallen, was was an eight-episode action thriller that aired in November on Amazon Prime.

The series followed an MI6 agent and a protection officer, who team up after a terrorist attack, targeting the French Minister of Defence.

Bristol Live reported in late February that film crews started shooting on Unity Street and Denmark Street in late February, where they were seen using weapons and fake bodies.

Later in February, Portland Square was cordoned off and eagle-eyed onlookers kept away from the area whilst it was used for a night-time shoot, where a car chase sequence was filmed.

The prominent filming location was closed off to traffic again in March to shoot more action for the series.

The new sequel, Apollo Has Fallen, will follow a hijacking that spirals into a shadowy conspiracy, while a deadly virus threatens to destroy Europe.

Although the cast has not been fully released, the two lead actors, Ritu Taylor, Tewfik Jallab, will be returning to the series as Zara Taylor, an MI6 agent and Vincent Taleb, an ex-protection officer.

The second season will pivot back to the films more closely, which has caused speculation that Mr Butler could make a cameo.

Bristol is a popular filming location and in the last year, Portland Square has also been used by Young Sherlock film crews and Baltic Wharf saw Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson filming for Down Cemetery Road.
