The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam adopted a resolution on the restoration of wheat imports from Ukraine, informed the document dd. June 5, 2018, which the Ukrainian Grain Association (UGA) has at disposal.

The resolution made a decision to resume the imports of Ukrainian wheat and realize a strict phytosanitary control for grain imports from Ukraine.

According to the President at the UGA, Mykola Gorbachev, opening of the market in Vietnam for Ukrainian wheat will expand the geography of Ukrainian exports. It is a big gain of Ukraine — both business and public authorities, which worked for solution of the issue for over three years.

Also, he added that it is a feature of high quality of the Ukrainian grain on the global market, and confirmation of the reputation as the reliable international partner in the grain industry.

As a reminder, in 2015 Vietnam temporarily banned the imports of wheat from Ukraine, due to detection of granary weevil in the grain, the buyers shipped the infected grain by counterfeit phytosanitary certificates.
